Brady Taylor here with the weekend outlook: Sunshine and seasonably warm temperatures are expected through the weekend. Highs on both Saturday and Sunday will likely make it into the mid-to-upper 90s!
SEATTLE (September 30, 20130—A heavyweight storm has drenched the Northwest, producing more rain in a day or two over the weekend than some cities typically get in all of September, the National Weather Service said.
It's the second-wettest September on record in Seattle where more than 5-and-a-half inches has fallen.
Normal rainfall for the month is an inch-and-a-half.
The 6.2 inches recorded through Sunday in downtown Portland, Ore., was the most since record-keeping began in 1872.
The previous record was 5-and-a-half inches in September 1927.
High winds hit trees that have not yet dropped their leaves and tens of thousands of power outages were reported in the Puget Sound and Portland areas.
