(January 10, 2013)—The storm system that brought two days of rain to Central Texas is moving out, followed by an influx of dry air, but forecasters say the dry spell may be short-lived.
A is expected to bring showers and thunderstorms as it approaches from the north on Saturday.
As much as 5 inches of rain was reported in parts of Central Texas on Wednesday, and there were scattered reports of street and road flooding, but no severe damage or injuries.
Rainfall totals in Central Texas ranged from more than 3 inches in Gatesville to about 4 inches in Rosebud in Falls County to about 4.5 inches in Bell County to 4.7 inches in Waco to more than 5 inches in Aquilla in Bosque County to nearly 6 inches in Malone in Hill County.
The weather service reports about 3 inches of rain fell in the Dallas-Fort Worth and Houston areas on Wednesday, while about 2 inches of rain was reported in the Austin-San Antonio area.
