Residents Missing After Texas Tornado Accounted For

GRANBURY (May 17, 2013)—All of the residents who were missing in the aftermath of Wednesday’s destructive and deadly tornadoes in North Texas are now accounted for.

The Hood County Sheriff's Office said Friday that the death toll from the violent storm system Wednesday night remains at six and is unlikely to change.

Authorities initially said seven people were missing, but everyone has been accounted for.

Hood County sheriff's spokesman Nathan Stringer says authorities were focusing Friday on a particularly hard-hit neighborhood in Granbury where most of the homes were damaged or destroyed.

Stringer says it's unclear when residents will be allowed back into the neighborhood to survey the damage, but said an informational meeting for residents will be held Saturday morning.
