DAVIS, Okla. (December 10, 2012)--A light mixture of snow and ice Monday on Interstate 35 in the Arbuckle Mountains in southern Oklahoma caused at least one fatal accident and as many as 40 separate crashes, authorities said.
An Oklahoma Highway Patrol report says a Dallas man was killed at around 6:50 a.m. Monday when he lost control of his northbound sport utility vehicle on an icy bridge I-35 in Love County and the SUV rolled down the embankment.
The man's name was not immediately released.
OHP Trooper Betsy Randolph says the other accidents included one with no injuries involving a fire truck that was assisting with another accident.
