Brady Taylor here with the weekend outlook: Sunshine and seasonably warm temperatures are expected through the weekend. Highs on both Saturday and Sunday will likely make it into the mid-to-upper 90s!
CONCORD, N.H. (February 6, 2013)--A blizzard that was heading to New England Wednesday could produce as much as 2 feet of snow and could make travel nearly impossible in a region that has seen mostly bare ground this winter.
The National Weather Service said the heaviest snowfall will be Friday night into Saturday.
A blizzard watch was issued for parts of Massachusetts and Rhode Island, and forecasters say travel could be treacherous because of blowing snow and snow drifts.
The storm comes just after the 35th anniversary of the historic blizzard of 1978, which paralyzed the region, producing more than 2 feet of snow and hurricane force winds.
A weather service official said Wednesday it's too early to tell if the storm will be one for the record books, but it has the potential for being dangerous.
