DALLAS (November 27, 2013) The cold, icy weather that gripped West Texas has moved out, but lingering power outages could mean no electricity for hundreds of homes and businesses through Thanksgiving.
Nearly 2,400 customers of two utilities were still without power Wednesday as crews worked to restore service.
Dallas-based Oncor reported about 1,400 outages mainly in the Midland and Odessa areas.
Power might not be restored to all customers until late Thursday night, Oncor said.
AEP Texas had about 950 outages, mainly in the Alpine and Marfa areas, where a transmission line was damaged during the weekend storm.
