GRANBURY (May 17, 2013)--Homes that volunteers from Habitat for Humanity built were among the hardest hit by the tornado that killed at least six people in Granbury.
The homes are in the Rancho Brazos Estates subdivision of Granbury, where the night tornado took lives Wednesday night.
Habitat for Humanity officials say that of the homes in the subdivision, 61 were built by the group's volunteers.
Gage Yager of Trinity Habitat for Humanity in Fort Worth said most of those homes were damaged, including at least a dozen that were destroyed.
Raul Rodriguez considers himself one of the more fortunate of the Habitat homeowners.
After riding out the storm with his family in a hall closet, he emerged to find his home damaged but still standing.
