BOSTON (March 8, 2013)--Commuters across New England faced a tough drive Friday, and schools either closed or delayed opening as a winter storm that dumped more than a foot of snow in some areas slowly began to move out of the region.
The National Weather Service reported Friday that central Massachusetts and areas southwest of Boston were getting the most snow in the state, and would get more before the storm tapered off after noon.
Flooding at the morning high tide closed some coastal roads north and south of Boston.
Schools across Connecticut are closed for a second day, and accidents were making the morning commute difficult.
The late-winter storm buried parts of the Midwest and Mid-Atlantic before sweeping into New England.
