AUSTIN (October 11, 2013)—Texans who want to share photos of the lingering drought have more time to post their original pictures online, the Texas Water Development Board announced Friday.
The board said the original Sept. 30 deadline to submit photos has been extended to Oct. 31.
A coalition of state agencies launched an interactive public awareness campaign on Aug. 5 on how the drought has impacted lives since 2010.
The water board, the Texas Department of Agriculture and the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department are sponsoring the effort using various social media platforms.
Later this month the agencies will display some of the drought photos at the Texas Capitol.
