HOUSTON (July 15, 2013)--More than 10,000 homes and businesses lost power during thunderstorms that soaked parts of Texas and left one person slightly hurt.
About 2,800 CenterPoint Energy customers were without electricity Monday as scattered rain continued to fall.
A gas station in Cypress was damaged Sunday night when strong winds toppled part of the awning, officials said.
A female customer was taken to a hospital to be checked for minor injuries.
Dallas-based Oncor reported more than 7,400 homes and businesses without power Monday in north and central parts of Texas, along with points west including Midland and Odessa.
Austin Energy had about 1,300 weather-related outages mainly in the south part of Austin.
