The High In Duluth Was 10 Below

DULUTH, Minn. (January 22, 2013)--Temperatures in Minnesota won't climb much above zero Tuesday, forecasters said, and the dangerous cold led some school districts to cancel classes or delay start times.

Duluth, Ely, Esko and Hermantown are among the districts where students were told to stay home.

Monday's high of 10 below zero in Duluth was the coldest temperature recorded there since February 2007, forecasters said.

The extreme cold means a busy day for AAA Minneapolis.

Spokesman Matt Hehl says they handled about 900 calls from motorists Monday, about twice the normal volume.
