BENNINGTON, Vt. (August 23, 2013)—Bennington, Vt., is considering whether to cash in on its "ultra-clean" water as a way to boost its economy.
Bennington is looking for bottlers and distributors that may want to sell its water, which comes the town's spring at the base of the Green Mountain National Forest.
The director of Bennington's office of economic development says the spring can provide over six million gallons of water a day, but the community only uses about 10 percent of that.
The town’s Economic and Community Development Director Michael Harrington calls the spring an "untapped" resource that shouldn't be overlooked.
