MIAMI (September 29, 2013)—A new tropical depression was moving over the central Atlantic far from land Sunday, the National Hurricane Center in Miami said.
Early Sunday the depression had maximum sustained winds of 35 miles per hour and forecasters said it could become a tropical storm later in the day.
The storm was about 1,000 miles east-southeast of Bermuda and was moving northeast at 9 miles per hour.
No coastal watches or warnings were in effect Sunday.
