Fishermen in Dominica pulled their boats ashore on Saturday while people in Martinique and St. Lucia went shopping for water and canned goods.
The U.S. National Hurricane Center said the tropical wave will likely dissipate after passing through those islands.
The tropical wave was about 40 miles east of Barbados and was moving west at 25 miles per hour with winds of 35 miles per hour.
The hurricane center canceled a tropical storm watch for the eastern Caribbean late Saturday morning.
