(December 19, 2012)—Winter may be just a couple of days away, but it felt more like late spring or early summer Wednesday as the official temperature rose to a record high of 81.
That breaks the old record of 79 set in 1977.
Central Texas also set a record Wednesday for a record high minimum temperature.
The low Wednesday was 61, four degrees warmer than the old record of 57 set in 1962.
High-temperature records fell around the state Wednesday, but a cold front should drop the mercury into the 30s overnight.
