(November 1, 2013) Several rounds of beneficial rain moved through Central Texas in October.
Most areas received from 3 to 8 inches of rain, but there were some isolated reports of more than 12 inches.
Waco ended the month of October with 7.3 inches, which made the month the eighth wettest October on record.
In 2012 Waco only received just 0.06 inches of rain in October.
For the year Waco has received 34.16 inches of rain, which is 5.04 inches more than normal.
Temple received 5.32 inches of rain in October, Killeen 3.71 inches, and Gatesville 3.73 inches.
The wet weather in October brought some slight improvement to drought conditions across Central Texas, but a large portion of the region remains in moderate drought conditions.
