MINNEAPOLIS (February 22, 2013)--Four deaths are now linked to the winter storm that's moved from the Plains states over the Great Lakes.
The victims include a Kansas woman who died after her car collided with a train.
Authorities told The Wichita Eagle that witnesses said her car began to slide before the accident.
The storm lost some strength Friday as it moved to the northeast, leaving a half foot or so of snow in some areas, freezing rain in others and not the foot and a-half that's on the ground in parts of Kansas.
Students across a large area of Kansas spent a second day at home Friday and schools were also closed in parts of Missouri, Michigan, Wisconsin and Minnesota.
