KABUL, Afghanistan (AP) - An Afghan official says gunmen have opened fire at a car belonging to the attorney general’s office in Kabul, killing all five people inside, including two prosecutors.

No one immediately claimed responsibility for the attack, but a local Islamic State affiliate has been blamed for a recent spike in violence.

A spokesman for the attorney general's office says the two prosecutors were part of a team supervising the release of Taliban prisoners as part of a peace deal signed earlier this year between the U.S. and the insurgent group.

The agreement is aimed at ending the 19-year war and allowing U.S. forces to withdraw.
