TEMPLE, Texas (KWTX) - A 3-year-old girl who was pulled from Lake Belton Wednesday evening died Thursday morning at a local hospital.

Police identified the girl Thursday as Skylar Parks.

Officers responded just after 7 p.m. Thursday to Temple Lake Park to a report of a possible drowning.

They performed life-saving measures until paramedics arrived, police spokesman Cody Weems said Thursday.

The girl was taken to Scott & White Medical Center in Temple where she later died.

“An initial investigation points to accidental drowning,” Weems said.
