HEIDENHEIMER, Texas (KWTX) - Authorities Thursday identified a man who died in a two-vehicle crash Wednesday at U.S. Highway 190 and Business Highway 190 in Heidenheimer as Thomas Curtis McNeill, 93, of Rogers.

McNeill, who was driving a Ford F-150 pickup, was entering U.S. 190 from Business 190 when he failed to yield to oncoming traffic, Texas Department of Public Safety Sg. Bryan Washko said Thursday.

An 2002 Chevrolet Suburban driven by a 25-year-old Caldwell man who was eastbound on U.S. 190 struck the rear end of the pickup, Washko said.

The driver of the Suburban “stated he attempted to take evasive action to avoid a collision, but his efforts were to no avail,” Washko said.

McNeill died at the scene.
