KILLEEN, Texas (KWTX) - Volunteers are needed this weekend to remove more than 9,000 wreaths placed on the graves of veterans at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen.

No registration is required to participate in Wreath Retrieval Saturday, which begins at 10 a.m. at the cemetery at 11463 State Highway 195.

Parking at the cemetery is limited, but volunteers may use the park and ride system by parking at Texas A&M University-Central Texas.

Buses run between 8 a.m. and noon.

Since 2006 the Friends of Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery and volunteers have prepared and placed the wreaths in November as part of the annual Wreath Project.
