KILLEEN, Texas (KWTX) – The Bell County grand jury handed up a capital murder indictment Wednesday against Cedric Vernon Henderson, Jr., 19, stemming from a shooting in March 2020 in Killeen that left a woman dead.,

Henderson and De’Jana Mont’e Williams, 19, both of Killeen, were originally charged with murder in the March 29, 2020 shooting of Kaitlyn Silverio, 20, of Temple, whom officers found lying in the road in the 3300 block of Hereford Lane.

Silverio was taken to Scott & White Medical Center in Temple where she later died.

Investigators determined the shooting occurred during a drug deal, police said at the time.

Henderson and Williams remain in the Bell County Jail where they’re held in lieu of $1 million bonds.
