Sources tell KBTX that Maranda Nichols, 30, and Adeline Welch, 3, were found after the two made a stop in or near Weatherford, Oklahoma, and tried to use a credit card that was declined. The small town is located along I-40 west of Oklahoma City. Authorities believe Nichols may have been heading to Amarillo.
College Station police say the child is now being evaluated by medical staff.
The two went missing sometime Thursday from College Station in an SUV that became the focus of an Amber Alert.
Nichols does not have full legal custody of Adeline, College Station Police announced Thursday morning after the two were discovered missing. The toddler suffers from medical conditions that place her in immediate danger of death or serious bodily injury, and police found her life-sustaining medical equipment and medication she requires at a home in the 1500 block of Holleman.
