Grab your western wear and giddy up to Heritage Festival Days at the Limestone County Fairgrounds in Groesbeck. Starting at 9:00 a.m. both Saturday and Sunday, there will be a carnival, story tellers, live music, street vendors, food, parade, games, tours, and so much more. There will also be a microchip event at the Groesbeck Court House Saturday morning and the first 100 pets get free microchips.
Art on Elm is a free pop-up art exhibition on historic Elm Avenue happening this weekend and features local artists, musicians, craft and food vendors and activities for kids. Saturday, anticipate an abundance of art, handcrafted goods, great music and a smorgasbord of food. Also happening this Saturday is the Waco Uptown Art Walk on Washington Ave with more art, music, and fun.
Some of the best bands from across the nation will be performing live at the VFW 1820 Post in Temple this weekend. This Memorial Weekend event is to honor and salute all of our fallen heroes and to make a worthy contribution to the local VFW 1820 Post. Tickets are $20 each night and there’s amazing line-ups for Saturday night, Sunday night, and on Monday there will be a Official Wrap-Up Ceremony at at 10:00 a.m. Doors open at 7:00 p.m. each night and the show will start at 8:00 p.m.
The Memorial Weekend the Rodeo in West is Saturday! Bring the family for some wild fun with Mutton Busting starting at 6:30 p.m. and the Rodeo kicks off at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are only $10 for adults with children 6 and under getting in free. The fun doesn’t stop there, after the Rodeo, Wolf’s Sports Bar will host a Sunday Funday Crawfish and Cornhole event.
Wholesome, family fun can be found at the Killeen Memorial Day Summer Bash complete with an old-fashioned family picnic summer bash Saturday afternoon, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Set up in the parking lot of SignatureCare Emergency Center in Killeen with free Kona Ice for all attendees. There will be an egg race, watermelon eating contest, water balloon toss, and hula hoop contest too.
Celebrate Memorial Day at the Dodge Country dealership. Attractions include food trucks, huge bounce house, face painting for the kiddos, petting zoo, pony rides, outdoor games and a dunking booth! This event is free.
Navigate through rough and muddy terrain and see if you have what it takes to make it out on top in the annual ASCO Spartacus Dash Race! With land and water terrain, this is a fun and thrilling 3-mile obstacle race. With over 20+ obstacles, including dirt hills of doom, cargo net wall, rope swing over Nolan Creek, mud pit crawl, zip line, tire field, slippery tarp slide, ice bath, & more of varying difficulty and degree. All ages and all fitness levels are invited to get down and dirty. To celebrate their 10th year – each registered participant that crosses the finish line will get a custom finisher medal and t-shirt along with food at the finish line.
Skate Waco Bellmead welcomes skaters from all over the country to the 1st Annual Texas Roller Games. Memorial Day Weekend will be the time to come together for Speed Skating and Figure Skating to test skills and prepare for the 2021 US National Championships. Events for Novice, Elite, Star Skate, Indoor and Outdoor will give skaters of all ages and skill levels the opportunity to compete! Skaters are welcome from everywhere! This event will be sanctioned by USA Roller Sports. Speed Skating will have multiple days of competition and on Saturday Indoor events will take place and on Sunday outdoor events.
Postponed from last weekend, The First Responder Heroes Bike & Car Show takes place at the Hewitt VFW Post 6008 on Saturday from 10: 00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. There will be food, silent auction, live music, bike blessings, first responders vehicles, and custom pin-striper on site. Sunday the festivities continue with a fun run at 10:30 a.m. On Memorial Day Monday, the Post & members of Boy Scout Troop 476, will be placing flags graveside at Waco Memorial Park at 10:00 a.m. After the flags are placed, there will be a flag folding ceremony in front of the memorial wall. Afterwards the Post will be providing sandwiches, chips, cookies, and iced tea, beginning at 12 P.M. Stop in and honor all those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
All Star Shootout at the Heart O’Texas Speedway is on Sunday and the speedway will induct five new members into the Wall of Fame. The induction ceremony will be held at 1:00pm and will be free to the public. Drinks, Hot Dogs and chips will be available free as well. Sunday Night, the Speedway welcomes the All Star Shootout Fueled by Fast Shafts. Also on the show card are the Outlaw Street Stocks and Jr. Limiteds. Gates open at 4:00 p.m. and racing starts at 7:00 p.m.
