Bond’s Alley Art Festival is one of the premier Art Festivals in Central Texas and dates back to 1964. This year’s event will be Saturday and Sunday in Historic Downtown Hillsboro. Festival hours are from 9am to 5pm on Saturday and 9am to 5pm on Sunday. The Art Festival will be housed again in Historic Bond’s Alley, which is enough reason for a visit. Bond’s Alley dates back to the first days of Hillsboro and is situated between what was once Texas’ Oldest Pharmacy, T.B. Bond Pharmacy, and Hillsboro’s oldest building, the Old Rock Saloon. There will also be art activities for the children.
Saturday night, from 6:30 – 8:30 pm, the Central Texas Belly Dance Association puts on a family-friendly event celebrating the joy of dance with Music through the Decades at the Harker Heights Moose Lodge 2179.
Once a year, the Greater Lorena Chamber of Commerce hosts a family-friendly Saturday in the Park: Wine & Cheese event. This year’s event is Saturday from 3:00 p.m. until dusk at McBrayer Park in Lorena. It’s free and the festivities include live music, food, craft vendors, train rides, petting zoo and bounce houses, and Dart ‘Em Up Nerf Tournament.
Gateville Shivaree is a small-town summer festival this weekend offering lots of family-friendly activities including a carnival rides, Color Run, BBQ Cook-Off, Bellamy Brothers live music, Jeep Show and more!
Cool off at Saturday at the Beat the Heat Family Day at the Temple Railroad & Heritage Museum in Temple. From 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. there will be activities for the entire family to cool you down and enjoy a little backyard fun! This event is free!
Saturday may be your family’s favorite day to bowl, eat, and have fun at AMF Bowling Co. in Waco from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. for Spring Kids Fest! The Copperas Cove Senior Center is presenting Senior Prom from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the Copperas Cove Civic Center, 1206 W. Ave. B. The dance will feature music from Scotty Ray and Blanca’s Oldies But Goodies Show with Max McConnell and Dennis Rehders. Refreshments will be provided. King and queen will be voted on. There will be a best original mask contest. Tickets cost $3 per person, $5 for a couple or $20 for a table of eight.
