WACO, Texas (KWTX) - Midway head football coach Jeff Hulme is leaving the Panthers after five years, sources with direct knowledge of the situation told KWTX Thursday morning on condition of anonymity.

Midway ISD told KWTX it has not yet received a formal resignation notice.

Hulme is heading to 5-A Mansfield Legacy where he’ll be head football coach, the sources said.

That position became available in the middle of May.

Hulme came to Midway from Mansfield High School, which is in the same district as Legacy High School.

Hulme led the Panthers to a state title game in 2017.

Last season at Midway, Hulme’s team went 3-7.
