Restaurant Report Card for June 3, 2021
(KWTX) - Marco’s Pizza #5085 at 510 North Loop 340 in Bellmead got an 87 on a recent inspection.
The health worker noted a cellphone was lying the prep table.
There was no certified food manager on site.
The restaurant needed sanitizer testing strips and the oven had “an abundance of food debris” on it.
Tres Magueyes on North 29th Street in Temple got a 92 on a recent inspection.
There was a missing wall tile and pests.
Apparently, there was a problem with gnats.
The inspector noted Raid ant and roach spray, and a bleach cleaner solution were on a shelf directly above the prep area.
The restaurant can’t store toxic items near the food or food contact surfaces.
Sonic at 2701 East Rancier Ave. in Killeen got a 97 during a recent inspection.
The health worker noted in an early inspection some repeat violations.
The restaurant needed some general cleaning.
There were dirty metal racks, the cooler, fan guards, and there was oil residue all over the three-compartment sink and faucet.
This week’s Clean Plate Award winner goes to Soul Doggone Good mobile food truck at 201 Veterans Memorial Blvd. in Harker Heights.
According to its Facebook page, you can get cheeseburgers and fries, chicken, and waffles, and if you are lucky, some Texas BBQ.
This spot is open on the weekends.
As areas reopen and people venture out, a late-night snack from this spot could do the trick.
