Prom for ‘seniors’ to celebrate return to normal for the elderly
COPPERAS COVE, Texas (KWTX) - The Copperas Cove Senior Activity Center will host a senior prom for the elderly Saturday.
The event will be held at the Copperas Cove Civic Center and is meant to celebrate the return to normalcy for the elderly.
The event will feature music and dancing from the 50s and 60s. Attendees will vote to crown a prom king and queen. There will also be a mask contest although masks are not required.
The Copperas Cove Senior Activity Center was shutdown because of COVID-19 last year but it remained shut down much longer after winter storm Uri caused major damage to the building.
The Community Outreach Specialist Jeri Wood who manages the Senior Center said they will announce the opening date for the center at the prom event.
Anyone wishing to attend can do so with or without formal prom attire. Tickets are $3 per individual and $5 per couple. Tickets can be purchased on site.
The senior prom will take place at the Copperas Cove Civic Center from 5-8 p.m.
