After a very rainy cool start to the month of June, we have quickly switched to hot & rain-free summer weather. High temperatures both Saturday and Sunday will make it into the low-to-mid 90s, with heat index values topping out between 100-105°!

Once we get to Monday we’ll have a small disturbance pass by our area in the morning, allowing for a few spotty showers. We’ll be dry in the afternoon, but the heat will back off some to the point where the Heat Index will stay below 100°. We stay in the low 90′s most of the week, but we could dip down to the upper 80′s going into next weekend. The reason being that there’s a chance for a tropical disturbance to move into the state next weekend, but as of now rain chances stay on the lower end.

Remember to stay hydrated, wear light colored clothing, and avoid outdoor exercise during the hottest part of the day. Always be sure to check your backseat when you park, and keep your pets cool and hydrated as well. Also remember that if you cannot hold the back of your hand on the pavement for 10 seconds, the pavement is too hot for your dog’s paws.
