WACO, Texas (KWTX) – Police have made an arrest in the shooting death of University High School athlete Tydreun Felder, 17.
Felder, a sophomore who played football and basketball, was shot in the abdomen on the night of May 14 at the Trendwood apartments in the 1700 block of Dallas Circle, police said.
He was taken to Baylor Scott & White Hillcrest Medical Center where he underwent surgery, but later died, police said.
Paul Allen Hall, 17, was in the McLennan County Jail Monday afternoon charged with manslaughter in connection with the shooting.
He was booked into the jail on Friday.
His bond is set at $75,000.
Hall and Fedler were in an apartment at the complex on the night of May 14, Waco police Officer Garen Bynum said, and at some point a gun Hall was handling discharged.
The bullet struck Felder.
The shooting, Bynum said, was not intentional, but reckless.
An arrest warrant for Hall was issued on June 1.
