Hot & humid work-week continues... high chance of tropical development in the Gulf
Wednesday is going to be another hot day for us - with lunchtime temperatures already around 90 degrees and the afternoon heat index or “feels like” temperatures around 100-105. Rain chances fade out of the forecast and with winds staying on the lighter side, we won’t get much in the way of relief from the heat over the next few days. This is the time to stay cool any way you can - hydration, shade, sunscreen, fans, etc.
This is a trend that, unfortunately, isn’t going to let up much heading into the weekend. Speaking of the weekend... we have a system to watch in the Gulf of Mexico. There is a high chance of some tropical development in the next few days but impacts for us should be minimal when it comes to rain. Right now, the biggest rain and wind impacts should be to our east. We will have to continue to monitor any shifts in the forecasted track. If it starts to inch more and more to the west, aka towards us, we could see our impacts change. Right now, all we look to get from it would be some smaller showers east of I-35 on Saturday, but check back as we see how this system develops in the coming days.
