WACO, Texas (KWTX) - Time is running out to give your thoughts on a new bus route in the city of Waco.

Waco Transit is working on finalizing the stop locations for the Waco Bus Rapid Transit project, and that’s what they want feedback on. The route would go all the way from Lacy-Lakeview to Hewitt Drive in Woodway, with 14 stations along the way.

Since the last meeting, Waco Transit added a possible stop at Franklin Avenue and New Road, and a stop at North Loop 340 and Scroggins Road. The main reason for the stop for the North Loop 340 stop is to access La Vega High School.

Waco Transit is also finalizing design plans for the stations, with four different design options. The city is still looking for feedback, but what has been collected so far has been positive.

There are several key benefits of the project, including transit improvements, improvements to quality of life because of betyter access to jobs, schools, shopping and medical facilities. The majority of the station location comments supported the proposed plan.

There were some requests, like considering electric vehicles, and adding BRT routes to reduce the need for transfers.

If you’d like to share your thoughts on station locations and design, there’s a form online at, along with additional information about the stops and designs, and the next steps for the project. People can also share their comments by phone at 844-922-6278, or by email at
