Be Remarkable: Mother and son duo provides community with the money and organs they need to survive
WEST, Texas - This week’s Be Remarkable takes us out to West, where a mother/son duo is providing their community with the money and organs they need to survive.
Let’s start with mom, Sarah Ragsdale, she gave her kidney to a co-worker and didn’t think twice about it.
“So I told her I would do it if I was a match...so I started the testing and it turns out that I’m a universal donor...if took about six months to get tested and for the surgery to actually happen...but I did it.”, Sarah Ragsdale, Be Remarkable Winner
But Danny Daniel from Daniel Stark Injury Lawyers was quick to note, Sarah’s son Ryan, was just as remarkable.
“Your son here, Ryan, he’s a big giver too...laughs...you like to give.”, Danny Daniel
Apparently it runs in the family because Ryan does like to give - how about almost $1,800?
That’s how much money he raised for the American Heart Association to benefit kids with heart defects.
Of course Be Remarkable is a $500 reward given to someone who makes their community a better place through acts of kindness and service.
“You and your mom are truly remarkable and as part of the be remarkable program we want to make a donation to Ryan’s Heart Program....you can do whatever you want with it.”, Danny Daniel
A big check for a big effort from a remarkable team unlike any other.
