Daily rain chances are back starting Sunday
Going into the weekend, things stay hot for us. Highs will be in the mid 90s and lows only fall into the mid 70s. We do see the humidity come down just enough to give us afternoon “feels like” temperatures around 100° (vs 103°-108°) for Saturday. The Sunday we see a few more clouds around and start to see some rain chances back in the forecast... minimal but they are at least there!
High pressure loses it’s grip on us and that allows our weather pattern to a shift Sunday into Monday. The result for us is a cold front will start to sink south, close to Central Texas. It’s looking likely that the front won’t actually make it into the area, but it should be close enough to spark those showers and storms. The increased rain chances early next week should keep high temperatures in the mid-to-upper 80s. Despite the cooler temperatures, it will likely still feel pretty humid as dewpoints remain in the mid 60s and 70s.
Some forecast models are hinting that potentially another front could arrive for the 4th of July weekend. Rain chances are near 40% Saturday and 30% on the 4th with highs near 90°. We’re still over a week away from Independence Day so don’t go canceling your outdoor plans. Be aware, you may need to pivot those plans late-next week.
