Harker Heights makes run to state quarterfinals

WACO, Texas (KWTX) - The Harker Heights football program is turning heads.

The Knights were one of just 64 teams from the entire state to qualify for the Division one state 7-on-7 football competition in College Station this weekend.

Harker Heights went 2-1 in pool play Friday to earn a spot in the championship tournament Saturday morning.

In the tournament, the Knights stopped a two-point conversion attempt by Eaton to win game one 28-27.

Harker Heights dominated Colleyville Heritage in game two, earning a spot in the Elite 8.

The Knights lost in the quarters by just 6 points to a Hebron team that ended up winning the entire tournament.
