WACO, Texas (KWTX) - Crews pulled a body out of the pickup truck found submerged in the Brazos River off the Waco Riverwalk.

Police and firefighters responded to the scene near the intersection of North University Parks Drive and Colcord Avenue at about 10:45 a.m. Sunday.

The Waco Fire Department Dive Team entered the river after the vehicle was spotted in the water and discovered the body of a man inside.

A tow truck was called in to help police pull the truck out of the water and Waco Mortuary then removed the body from inside the vehicle.

The truck pulled out of the river appears to be a white, early 90s model Chevrolet Silverado.

Police said it is unknown how long the pickup had been in the water.

A justice of the peace ordered an autopsy. Police have not yet identified the body.
