Not yet old enough to drive, Daniel still has a need for speed and a home
WACO, Texas (KWTX) - Daniel may might not be old enough to drive but he’s got the need for speed and he LOVES cars.
Getting to know this foster kid at Bird-Kultgen car dealership in Waco was quite the ride.
Although he can’t hardly wait to get behind the wheel and cruise out on the road, life’s ride has been bumpy for Daniel.
Brandi Jackson is his case worker and knows exactly what it will take to get things back on track.
“A family would be great for him - that’s all he needs,” she noted.
“He needs that love that nurturing, that commitment, just love to provide him with a forever home.”
At nine-years old, Daniel has been shuffled around the foster care system for the last few years, but that hasn’t taken a toll on his attitude.
“Daniel is very special,” said Jackson through a smile.
“He’s a sweet kid and he does not meet a stranger and he’s very loveable, he likes to talk.”
He also has goals.
He says he wants to be a police officer. He also loves math and actually enjoys doing chores.
“He says he wants to be a police officer and I guarantee he will be that,” assured Jackson.
But for Daniel, like most kiddos in foster homes, the road to success is filled with potholes.
A family is essential. Unfortunately, it’s a concept he really can’t even comprehend right now.
He says, right now, he really doesn’t even know what “family” means.
Hopefully he’ll understand soon, because all he needs is that forever family, of any kind, to help him navigate his journey.
