BELLMEAD, Texas (KWTX) - This week’s Be Remarkable takes us out to St Joseph Catholic Church in Bellmead where a woman with a tender heart and the toughness to work through pain literally sews seeds of love.

“We can’t change the world and the conditions, but we can do something in our little area, our little space.”, Janet Rowell, Be Remarkable Winner

Janet Rowell’s space is a small room just adjacent to St Joseph Catholic Church

She’s able to reach well beyond those four walls with the quilts that she makes for people in times of grief or celebration.

“Janet has made a difference in so many of our lives.”, Jan Viznant, Nominator

Jan Viznant is one of the people Janet has touched, and she’s also one of the women who helps her create enduring love through their group Quilts of Mercy

The women make quilts for people who are sick, some folks in mourning or someone celebrating the birth of a child. Although they work together often, Janet sometime works alone as chronic pain will keep her awake at night.

“I just get up and the pain hits and I have to get up. I start sewing.”, Janet Rowell

Somehow she turns that pain into a passion project.

“As I’m working I pray for the person that’s going to be receiving that quilt that I’m working on currently.”, Janet Rowell

And to see to it that she can make more quilts for years to come the folks at Daniel | Stark Injury Lawyers offered up a big thank you.

“Part of the Be Remarkable program we donate $500 to help you with some more quilts.”, Danny Daniel, Daniel | Stark Injury Lawyers
