Former Temple Wildcat drafted by the LA Chargers
DALLAS, Texas (KWTX) - Former Temple wildcat Quentin Johnston was selected by the Los Angeles Chargers with the twenty-first pick of the NFL draft.
Johnston heads to the NFL after a standout year with TCU ending at the National Championship.
According to CBS Sports, the “big-bodied” Johnston was a four-star recruit out of Temple High School, and “got better and better in his three seasons at TCU.”
He was at his best in 2022, per CBS Sports, when he amassed more than 1,000 receiving yards and six touchdowns to help lead the Horned Frogs to the College Football Playoff for the first time in school history.
Quarterbacks Bryce Young, C.J. Stroud and Anthony Richardson were among the top four picks Thursday night, an expected result in a rich draft class that’s been anticipated since last year.
