LORENA, Texas (KWTX) - A brush and structure fire in Lorena destroyed a metal shop, a home and damaged a second home after it spread along Levi Parkway Tuesday afternoon, KWTX has confirmed.

The fire erupted in the area of Levi Parkway and Silo Hill Road. At about 8:45 p.m., the Lorena Fire Department announced the 2900 block of Levi Parkway had been reopened and “all fire units released from the scene.”

The fire was estimated to be in between 20 and 30 acres, and was 90 percent contained at about 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, according to The Texas A&M Forest Service.

KWTX has learned the blaze also engulfed multiple cars and killed at least one pet in the home that was destroyed.

Oncor was also at the scene Thursday evening working to rebuild utility lines downed by the fire.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation, the Lorena Fire Department said.
