Sironia closing its doors after more than 20 years in Waco
WACO, Texas (KWTX) - Sironia on Feb. 28 will close its doors after 20 years of business, said owner Holly Harris.
“With a very grateful heart I am announcing that Sironia will be closing it’s doors,” Harris said.
The popular boutique and cafe had just celebrated its 20 year anniversary in July 2023.
Holly Harris and Martha Sanders opened the boutique in the Sach’s Building at 1509 Austin Avenue in 2003.
The iconic building which was built in 1954 and was home to Sach’s on the Avenue.
The Sach’s family sold the building to Diane Henderson and she first opened Sironia.
Henderson was “a trail blazer in every aspect and such an incredible business woman and mentor. It quickly became a unique and favorite place for Wacoans to shop local, independent boutiques,” Harris said.
“Waco, thank you for your openness to allow Martha and I to step into the incredible shoes of Diane Henderson when we began this journey and thank you for your support every step of the way. You allowed mine and Martha’s dream to come true, and for me, that’s a gift from the soul. I’m excited for the future of this iconic building and can’t wait to encourage the next business in this space as history continues,” Harris said.
Sanders passed away suddenly in May 2023.
Sironia is located at 1509 Austin Avenue in Waco, Texas.
