Baylor defeats Air Force
WACO, Texas (KWTX) - Shortly before the game, it was revealed that Baylor’s starting quarterback, Dequan Finn, would be sidelined for the matchup against Air Force.
Finn was observed with his right arm in a sling.
Backup quarterback Sawyer Robertson took the helm for the Bears.
In the first half, Baylor’s offense didn’t reach the end zone, yet Isaiah Hankins’ two field goals secured a 6-3 lead at halftime.
The Bears came out strong after the break. Bryson Washington’s 19-yard rush resulted in his first touchdown at Baylor, extending their lead to 13-3.
That seemed to open things up for the Bears. Sawyer Robertson scrambled for a 6-yard quarterback keeper. Hankins contributed another field goal from 24 yards out towards the end of the third quarter.
The Bears’ rode some momentum as Richard Reese dashed for a 28-yard touchdown, with Baylor successfully adding a two-point conversion to make it 31-3.
For “mission black ops” night, Baylor debuted their new anthracite uniforms.
