(InvestigateTV) — Amazon makes it easy to click and buy, but that doesn’t guarantee the best price.

Kyle James with the website Ratherbeshopping.com said it’s easier than ever to make sure you’re getting a good deal.

He has been testing Amazon’s new AI assistant, called Rufus. In the Amazon app, Rufus appears as three small chat bubbles in the bottom right corner. On the website, you’ll find a Rufus button in the top navigation bar.

“You can actually use that AI system to figure out what kind of deal you’re getting. I’m kinda surprised Amazon does this and I don’t even think a lot of shoppers know about this yet,” James said. “If you’re on a product page and you open up Rufus you can say ‘hey show me the pricing history of this item.’ And it will actually show you a cool little bar graph of the 30-day and 90-day price history.”

James said Amazon prices fluctuate so much that Rufus can help shoppers decide whether to buy now or wait for the price to dip.

Another useful feature is asking Rufus if there are coupons connected to your purchase before you check out.

“When you have all your items in your cart say, ‘Rufus are there any coupons or deals on the stuff that’s in my cart?’ and it will do a quick little search to figure out if there are coupons that you’re missing, and you can go back and apply them to your order,” he emphasized.

James said it’s worth using Rufus on anything over $20. Spending just 15 seconds to check could help you spot hidden deals or find better prices elsewhere on Amazon.
