Amy is a news anchor, reporter and producer with 5 years of experience. KBTX has given life to Amy's' dream of being an evening anchor and she is excited to get to know the faces and places of Bryan and College Station! She was born and raised in El Paso, Tx. and graduated from the University of Texas at El Paso. Amy grew up watching her aunt Isabell report and eventually anchor the local news. It's because of "Izzy's" influence that she pursued journalism throughout high school and college. She graduated with her multi-media journalism degree and immediately got a part-time position as a production assistant at a local station. Within six months of working at the station she landed the morning reporter job where she started telling the stories of those in the community. Two years later, she was promoted to correspondent for a Texas lifestyle show. During this time, her passion for telling stories and using her platform to help became stronger during the pandemic when local businesses where on the brink of shutting down because of the shut-down. Amy used her local lifestyle role to put a spotlight on the businesses that needed attention. She also loves to emcee events and volunteer.
On her free time, she enjoys hanging out with her Great Pyrenees puppy, Elle. She and Elle look forward to exploring Aggieland!
