Shea Schrader

Lead Investigator
Savannah, Ga.
Shea Schrader

Shea Schrader is an Emmy-award winning Investigative Reporter for WTOC and has been with the station since 2022.

Starting out as a Multimedia Journalist, Shea covered several cities and counties throughout the Coastal Empire, including Long County, Liberty County, Wayne County, and Tybee Island. After only several months on the job, she led WTOC's coverage of the Quinton Simon murder case, conducting the only interview now convicted-murderer Leilani Simon gave while the investigation into Quinton's death was ongoing. Shea also covered the entirety of Simon's trial, including analyzing each day's events in a special newscast each night.

Now, as Lead Investigator at WTOC, Shea has broken some of the biggest stories in the area and investigated issues with real-world impact. Shea exposed the exploitation of migrant labor on the Hyundai megasite almost a year before Homeland Security raided the project, and uncovered an alleged labor trafficking ring at a Savannah warehouse. Shea's investigations have led to federal investigations, city inquiries, and calls for change by the community.
