Get to know more about Christy!

Christy Soto is a born-and-raised Floridian who now calls Waco home.
Christy graduated from Baylor University, where she earned her degree in journalism. Before joining the KWTX team, she served as broadcast managing editor and anchor for Baylor's Lariat TV News.

While attending Baylor, Christy had the chance to cover the Parkland, Florida shooting, the National Walk Out, the death of Fidel Castro, the Twin Peaks Biker trial and the inauguration of Baylor's first female president. She also landed exclusive interviews with former Congressman Chet Edwards and Pulitzer Prize winner Isabel Wilkerson.

Her story on a Baylor student who established the “Enough Movement” through a blog won several awards, including the Gold at the AVA Digital Awards and the Lone Star Emmy Award for Light News.
Christy began working with KWTX in January as an intern for the morning show and now she is a full-time reporter. She is excited to be a part of the News 10 family.

When she's not in the newsroom or out in the field, Christy enjoys spending time with her friends and family, scouting out cute puppies to pet around Waco, working out and consuming large quantities of queso.

Christy, like many Baylor alumni, fell in love with the people and charm Waco has to offer and just had to stick around to see what else the city has to offer. She would love to hear from you and be more involved in the community.
