Sun sets on Rusty Garrett's storied career

WACO, Texas (KWTX) - From presenting the weather, to making sure kids get presents for Christmas, Rusty Garret has given Central Texas towns lots to talk about for 30 years.

But the sun is finally setting on this storied career.

However, KWTX didn’t send him off without having a little fun first.

The legend hit the road with Brady Taylor and Gordon Collier for a six city Change in the Weather Tour.

The trio celebrated the passing of the torch by welcoming Taylor, the long-time morning meteorologist, to evenings.

And Collier not only helped emcee the events on sight, but The Gordon Collier Band played music to keep the crowd moving.

The tour stopped in Cameron, Lampasas, Marlin, Gatesville, Groesbeck and Bell County.

Rusty's last evening newscast is officially Friday at 6pm.
