Parades canceled, what to do for Veterans Day Monday

Waco and Killeen have canceled their annual Veterans Day parades, but there are still plenty of other activities happening indoors.

The Mayborn Science Theater, on the campus of Central Texas College will be open today featuring a matinee doubleheader with a military theme.

At 1:30 p.m. they'll be showing "D-day: Normandy 1944" which details the largest allied operation of World War II.

At 2:30 p.m. audiences can enjoy a laser light show titled "Spirit of America" with patriotic and rock-and-roll music.
Tickets are $5 per person, per show.

The West Museum is running its Veterans and War exhibit, Thursday through Saturday through December 29th.

Admission is free.

There will also be a Veterans Day ceremony at VFW Post 9191 in Killeen at 2 p.m. Monday.

Here are some spots where military members can get free food on Monday. Be sure to bring a military I.D.

To work off those free calories, the Armed Services YMCA in Harker Heights is offering complimentary individual admission passes to military members.

Crunch Fitness in Killeen is celebrating Vets Day with special HIIT class workouts.

Members are encouraged to bring vets for free at 10:00 a.m., 5:30 p.m., and 6:30 p.m.
