Waco police arrested a boy Thursday morning who had threatened for several days to shoot up his school, Vanguard College Preparatory School at 2517 Mount Carmel Dr.

School staff members first reported the threats on Tuesday.

“It was determined that the juvenile made statements on several consecutive days about getting a gun and shooting up the school,” Waco police Sgt. W. Patrick Swanton said.

“After learning of the threat, Vanguard took action with the student, removing him from the classroom and expelling him from school. They have cooperated in our investigation,” he said.

Police didn’t release the name of the boy because of his age.

The boy is charged with terroristic threat, a class B misdemeanor.
