Credit and debit card security was breached at six Central Texas Chipotle restaurants this spring, the chain says.

An investigation revealed malware “designed to access payment card data from cards used on point-of-sale devices at certain Chipotle restaurants between March 24 and April 18,” the chain said.

The malware searched for data including the names of cardholders, card expiration dates and internal verification codes.

“There is no information that other customer information was affected,” the chain said.

The investigation confirmed breaches between April 3 and April 18 at the restaurant at 714 South 4th St. in Waco; between March 25 and April 18 at the restaurant at 1115 North Valley Mills Dr. in Waco; between March 25 and April 18 at the restaurant at 3550 South General Bruce Dr. in Temple; between March 24 and April 18 at the restaurant at 201 East Central Texas Expressway in Harker Heights; between March 27 and April 18 at the restaurant at 3018 East Highway 190 in Killeen, and between March 27 and April 18 at the restaurant in the Clear Creek Shopping Center in Killeen.
